Market Lake
By admin | October 9, 2008

I started a new project when I got back from Yellowstone. It was 75 when I was there this time last week and now they are expecting 30 plus inches of snow this weekend. We are expecting eight here with a fun football game tomorrow night with lows in the 20s and windshields in the teens.
So I wanted something to work on to keep my little landscape kicking going and wanted some place close. Market Lake is a wildlife refugee in a town called Roberts about 20 miles out side of town with various types of wildlife.

I have few more pictures that I will post over the next few days.

Yellowstone Project
By admin | October 3, 2008
I have spent the last week shooting as many images as I could of the Tetons and Yellowstone. Chasing good light with endless compositions. I tried hard to make my images different from the 10 to 50 other photographers surrounding me at times.
I have had several emails asking what kind of gear I shoot with. All these images are taken with a Nikon D3, 28 f2.8, 50 f1.4 and a 70-200 f2.8. I like fixed lens when I am doing landscape for several reasons. One they are lighter, smaller and easy to deal with. But the main reason is so I can concentrate on composition. There are endless compositions when you are out there. I struggle with do I include that tree or branch or leaf? And with a zoom lens I would just keep zooming out and out to include that extra leaf or branch.
Please comment. I am not as educated in the world of landscape photography as photojournalism. Which is very little. Also if anyone knows how to change the text color on the style sheet that would be great if you could tell me. All comments are in black but can be highlighted to be seen.
